Job description

Full-time medical receptionist/medical assistant needed for busy multi-provider outpatient mental health office. Seeking an energetic, service-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal skills, a friendly and positive attitude, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting.ย  This job position is two-part role: the employee will serve as a medical receptionist as well as a TMS Technician.ย  Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is an alternative treatment method for patients with treatment resistant depression.ย  TMS technician training will be provided by this office.ย  ย 
Requirements/Skills:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. A positive, nonjudgmental, unbiased demeanor is critical
  • Outgoing and proactive work style with proven ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independently
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Computer skills, with proficiency in Windows based software.ย  Previous experience using Electronic Medical Records is preferred
  • Proficiency in verbal and written English (bilingual in Spanish is a plus)
  • Ability to abide by HIPAA and other regulatory policies
  • Previous experience working in a medical office with familiarity with procedures, policies, practices and medical terminology, telephone protocol and professional etiquette is preferred
  • ย Medical Assistant certification or previous experience working in healthcare/mental health is recommended, but not required
Job Duties:
  • Answering and triaging incoming calls
  • Checking in patients for their appointments (verify insurance information, demographics, etc.)
  • Faxing, scanning, filing
  • Collecting copayments and outstanding balances (batch and balance at end of day)
  • Covering co-workersโ€™ vacation/sick/personal time
  • Opening and/or closing the office multiple days per week
  • Other duties as assigned by office manager
  • Hands-on contact and interaction with patients when checking patient vital signs and administering TMS treatment
