Position: Sheet Metal Mechanic


Company Overview: Delta Metals Inc. is Southeast Georgias largest sheet metal and roofing contractor. Founded in 1959, we strive to provide clients with high quality products and superiorservice at competitive prices.

Our products are fabricated in our factory in Savannah, Georgia,and can be shipped to your facility for installation or our service and construction team can install them for you. Let our craftsmen create the metal products you need.


Position Overview: As a member of our sheet metal field crew, you will join a team of skilled tradespeople who take pride in their work. You will put your own skills and knowledge to the test to ensure that the quality production and installation of our finished product is second to none. To be a good fit for this role, you MUST not be afraid of heights, you MUST have a positive work ethic, and you MUST have previous work experience installing commercial duct systems.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Set and operate fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal, shaping metal
  • Perform inspections of all fabricated pieces to ensure parts meet engineered drawing specifications
  • Utilize calipers, heights gages, and other measuring equipment as needed to meet drawing specifications
  • Operate hand tools such as drill presses, grinders, orbital sanders, etc.
  • Interpret blueprints and drawings; follow technical guides
  • Troubleshoot installation issues of fabricated duct systems
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and serviceable
  • Follow all company and job site safety protocols
  • Other duties as assigned by management


Skills & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • REQUIRED 2+years of structural assembly experience sheet metal assembly fabrication
  • Ability to work from heights for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to walk stairs/climb ladders for prolonged periods of time
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints
  • Able to perform basic math functions and use math formulas by solving dimensional problems
  • Must be capable of performing tasks that frequently require lifting, reaching, bending, walking, pulling, sitting, standing, crouching, stooping, and kneeling for prolonged periods of time
  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Skills at using hand tools for riveting and drilling
  • A high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently
  • Requires the ability to use a phone and tablet to input data, such as timecard information, emails, etc.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus for this role

Working Environment: Work is typically performed while standing at heights, in varying work locations.


Salary: $20/hour, depending on skills & experience
