Job description

Job Summary:

As a Metal Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and equipment by applying various welding techniques. Your primary duty will involve reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine the layout, type, and size of metal components. Additionally, you will operate welding equipment to cut, shape, and join metal components, ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards.

Welders manage the machines that manufacture and repair metal structures, tools, and equipment. To excel in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of welding machinery and electrical equipment. The successful candidate will also have a steady hand and outstanding attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
  • Operate welding equipment to weld and assemble metal components according to specifications.
  • Select and set up welding equipment, including selecting appropriate welding techniques and materials.
  • Inspect welds and ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools.
  • Follow safety procedures and wear protective equipment to prevent accidents and injuries.
