While our business has expanded globally, we remain grounded in our core values and continue to invest in people, processes, and products that set us apart in the seating industry.To learn more about our company and products, visit www.gasserchair.comPosition Overview:Gasser Chair is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented individuals to join our production team as an Upholstery Associate, Powder Coat Associate and Machine Operator to support the production of high-quality custom seating products within our manufacturing operations.The Upholstery Associate is responsible for performing hands-on upholstery work, including fitting, stretching, stapling, and assembling materials such as fabric, vinyl, and foam to chair frames.The Upholstery Associate will report to the Upholstery Supervisor and work closely with other members of the Upholstery department to ensure products meet design specifications, quality standards, and production timelines.The Powder Coat Associate is responsible for applying powder coating to various components and ensuring that all powder coating processes are carried out accurately and in compliance with quality specifications. This role involves preparing items for coating, operating coating equipment, and performing quality checks.The Metal Shop Associate is responsible for supporting the metal fabrication processes, performing tasks such as material retrieval, machine operation, quality inspection, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This position is critical to ensuring that metal components are prepared and processed accurately and efficiently for productionThis position is ideal for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, has strong attention to detail, and takes pride in producing high-quality finished products.Key Responsibilities - UpholsteryUpholstery Assembly: Apply fabric, vinyl, and other upholstery materials to chair frames using hand and pneumatic tools.Fit and Finish: Align, stretch, and secure materials to ensure a clean, tight finish that meets customer specifications and quality standards.Inspection: Examine frames and materials for defects prior to and during upholstery; identify and address issues as needed.Advanced Upholstery Tasks: Perform specialized work such as top stitching, double needle applications, and try-ons.Process Adherence: Follow established work instructions and production processes to maintain consistency and quality.Production Efficiency: Complete daily tasks in alignment with production schedules and efficiency targets.Equipment Use: Safely operate upholstery tools and equipment, including staple guns, mallets, and scissors.Collaboration: Work closely with the Upholstery Supervisor and team members to resolve issues and improve workflow.Material Handling: Organize and manage materials at the workstation to ensure availability and minimize waste.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and enhance overall product quality.Key Responsibilities - Powder CoatPowder Coating Application: Apply powder coating to components and products according to company specifications and quality standards.Preparation: Prepare items for coating by cleaning, masking, and ensuring surfaces are properly prepped.Equipment Operation: Operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns and curing ovens, to apply coatings evenly and efficiently.Quality Control: Inspect coated items for defects, such as uneven coverage or contamination, and make necessary adjustments to achieve quality standards.Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on powder coating equipment to ensure proper functioning and minimal downtime.Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while handling powder coating materials and operating equipment.Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of powder coating activities, including material usage and production metrics.Process Improvement: Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the powder coating process.Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to coordinate activities and ensure that production targets are met.Cleanup: Clean and maintain the work area, including equipment and tools, to ensure a safe and organized workspace.Key Responsibilities - Machine Operator (Metal Shop)Material Handling: Retrieve metal materials from storage locations and transfer them to the appropriate workstations or areas using tools such as pallet jacks.Machine Operation: Operate metal shop machinery, including presses, shears, and cutting tools, ensuring accurate operation in accordance with safety protocols and production standards.Quality Control: Inspect metal parts and components for defects or irregularities, ensuring they meet the required specifications before moving to the next stage of production.Tool Maintenance: Regularly inspect and perform routine maintenance on tools and machines, ensuring they are in good working condition and reporting any issues to the Metal Shop Manager.Documentation: Accurately complete necessary production paperwork, documenting material usage, production outputs, and any issues encountered during the process.Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and following lockout/tagout procedures when necessary.Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the metal shop and collaborate with team members and the Metal Shop Manager to implement changes.Cross-Training: Support other team members and departments as needed, contributing to a flexible and adaptable work environment.Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized workspace by regularly cleaning tools, work areas, and removing scrap materials according to company standards.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required.Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.Prior upholstery experience is a plus.Comfortable using hand tools such as staple guns, scissors, and mallets.Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.Ability to follow instructions and standardized work processes.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.Physical Requirements:This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods (up to 10 hours per day) and perform repetitive hand and arm motions. The role involves bending, kneeling, and lifting materials up to 25 pounds. Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
