Material Grinder (Metal)

About the Team
The Metal Fabrication team is currently seeking an individual with metal working experience for our Port Orchard, WA manufacturing facility. The Metal Fabrication team works together with other departments to create, build, assemble and ship products for the commercial construction industry.
About the Role
As a Material grinder, you will work under the direction of the Metal Fabrication Lead and directly with the Production Team processing metal and aluminum materials using grinders, sanders and sand blast material with other metal processing equipment. Operator will also be involved in processing materials for custom products from drawings/blueprints. You'll be based in our Port Orchard, WA manufacturing facility. You'll have a direct hand in accomplishing our #1 goal - a successful project in every way.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret production orders
  • Inspect the quality of the material before, during and after the various processes to ensure quality standards are met
  • Complete required paperwork for inventory purposes
  • Report defective material and faulty equipment to Production Manager immediately
  • Maintain a clean work environment and abide by all plant safety regulations and work rules

Necessary Skills
  • Proven experience grinding and sanding metal materials
  • Mathematic skill a plus.
  • Read measuring tape
  • Ability to lift more than 50lbs, jib cranes are available in most workstations
  • You should have strong attention to detail
  • Reliable transportation, regular attendance and punctuality are critical

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00 per hour. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on tenure, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand for extender periods - 8 hours minimum and able to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs
  • Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, and at times may also require working in confined spaces.
  • Work is performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors and noise, and at times, extreme temperature changes including cold and heat.
