Job description

AC Corporation is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Journeyman to join our growing field team. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who takes pride in high-quality workmanship and enjoys working on a wide range of commercial and industrial HVAC projects.

What You'll Do

  • Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal systems and HVAC components
  • Install ductwork, HVAC units, VAVs, reheat coils, fire dampers, air risers, and clean room systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, specifications, and work orders
  • Select appropriate materials, gauges, and fabrication methods
  • Set up and operate shears, brakes, presses, and other fabrication equipment
  • Layout, cut, form, and finish materials using hand and power tools
  • Assemble components using welding, soldering, riveting, bolting, screwing, clipping, caulking, or bonding methods
  • Inspect completed work for quality and accuracy
  • Assist and provide direction to apprentices as needed
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures

  • Strong working knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and installation
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
  • Must supply personal hand tools

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Climb ladders, scaffolding, and work at heights
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and on rooftops
