Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Apple ecosystem specialist to optimize and maintain a Mac-based creative environment. This position requires deep knowledge of macOS + iOS/iPadOS integration, Apple networking features, and best practices for consolidating and organizing large Music and Photos libraries across multiple Apple devices.

The ideal person understands real-world Apple workflows (not theory) and can design a system that is fast, reliable, and clean โ€” with strong data safety practices and minimal disruption.

Key Responsibilities 1) Apple Ecosystem Infrastructure
  • Configure and optimize multiple Macs, iPhones, iPads under one or more Apple IDs (as appropriate)
  • Ensure reliable syncing across devices (Contacts, Calendars, Notes, iCloud Drive, Photos, Music)
  • Advise on best practices for Apple ID usage (single vs multiple Apple IDs, shared content, family sharing, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot Apple syncing issues and cloud conflicts (duplicates, library mismatches, stuck syncing, etc.)
2) Music Library Consolidation & Optimization
  • Consolidate and reorganize Apple Music / Music.app libraries across multiple Macs
  • Resolve duplicate tracks, missing files, โ€œ!โ€ broken paths, and scattered storage
  • Optimize media storage architecture:
    • internal SSD vs external drives
    • NAS vs DAS
    • best format and file structure for long-term media stability
3) Photos Library Consolidation & Repair
  • Consolidate multiple Photos libraries while preserving metadata, albums, people, favorites, geolocation, edits
  • Resolve Photos library issues: damaged libraries, inconsistent iCloud Photos behavior, storage bloat from misconfigurations
  • Design reliable strategy for iCloud Photos vs local Photos library, backup & archive separation
4) Backup, Data Protection & Recovery Planning

Design a backup system using:

  • Time Machine (local/network if applicable)
  • iCloud backup capabilities (where appropriate)
  • manual or versioned archive backups for long-term safety
  • Ensure correct backup retention strategy: rapid recovery + long-term archive
  • Audit and document backup coverage so nothing is assumed or missed
5) Apple Networking & Optimization
  • Advanced Wiโ€‘Fi and network setup for Apple environments
  • Configure file sharing, permissions, SMB/APFS external drive workflows
  • Optimize reliability for studio environments: stable throughput, low downtime, repeatable recovery
Required Qualifications (Must Have)
  • Strong professional experience with macOS (Apple Silicon preferred)
  • Experiences with iOS / iPadOS
  • Expert understanding of iCloud syncing mechanisms (Photos, Drive, Music, Messages)
  • Time Machine workflow and limitations
  • Storage architecture for media-heavy creative professionals
  • Formats and features of external storage and USB/Thunderbolt protocols
  • LAN Network
  • Proven track record consolidating Photos libraries, Music libraries, iCloud accounts
  • Comfortable working with large datasets (multi-terabyte libraries)
Strongly Preferred / Bonus Skills
  • Experience working with musicians, recording studios, video editors, photographers
  • Knowledge of NAS systems (QNAP/Synology)
  • RAID safety realities vs backup
  • Carbon Copy Cloner (CCC)
  • Ability to write clear documentation (so the system is maintainable)
