ABOUT GLOBAL TV DISTRIBUTION

NBCUniversal Global Distribution is responsible for the sales and distribution of NBCUniversal product to all forms of television and streaming platforms in over 200 territories across the globe.  This includes a rich library of more than 6,000 feature films and 170,000 television episodes, including current and classic titles, non-scripted programming, sports, news, animation, long-form and short-form programming, and locally produced content from around the world.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Assistant Manager, Metadata will concentrate on assisting with procurement, creation, and distribution of descriptive metadata and artwork assets to new media licensees. This includes assisting with Quality Control (QC), aggregating and delivering metadata and artwork in various languages while meeting tight deadlines. This person will maintain a schedule of NBCUniversal-owned programming, gather and proofread required information from various internal and external sources to populate an internal database, and then export and deliver the metadata and artwork to multiple clients or vendors in accordance with contractual terms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research, aggregate, QC and deliver descriptive metadata and art assets for TV titles licensed from NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution
  • Source information from various official systems and standardize data to input in an internal database
  • Coordinate with the Sales Administration, Account Management, Master Data, and Materials Servicing teams and other internal groups to fulfill Licensing deals
  • Commission synopsis translations in multiple languages from vendors, tracking progress toward deadlines
  • Research, request, and organize artwork files in preparation for delivery deadlines
  • Proofread and export metadata for delivery via XLS, CSV, XML, or other formats per Licensee specs
  • Investigate and resolve technical packaging issues, QC tickets and other post-delivery rejections with minimal supervision
  • Handle client inquiries, responding promptly and/or redirecting to the appropriate contact, to fully address all questions and concerns regarding NBC Universal TV product
  • Work with the Metadata Team to maintain and improve the internal metadata repository, process documents and job manuals

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Media Distribution or Post-Production
  • Proficient in English business writing
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel, including Macros (VBA), Databases, Pivot Tables, and Formulas

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS

  • Experience with editorial proofreading
  • Experience in creating, copyediting, and delivering descriptive metadata
  • Meticulous attention to detail and independent follow-through, with ability to flag issues or questions proactively and clearly document the solutions
  • Efficient time management and task-tracking skills to meet multiple concurrent due dates and regularly communicate status updates
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders
  • Critical thinking and creative problem-solving to address technical issues and streamline workflows
  • Familiarity with digital artwork deliverable specs such as key art, photography, and logos/title treatments

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
