Job description

Job Description:

Content and Data Systems Coordinator

Franklin, TN

On-site

The Content and Data Systems Coordinator is a key part of the transformational journey to data driven brand building with the aim to transform the way we connect with the pet parents and build relationships with them at the heart of everything we do.

The infrastructure layer of the Content Operations & Production function keeps the platforms, integrations, metadata, and data hygiene that underpin the entire function running cleanly. The role nobody notices when it's working - and everybody notices when it isn't. Where the Director sets standards and the MarTech & Workflow Manager design the systems, the coordinator runs the day-to-day operational discipline that makes those systems trustworthy.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor or Associate degree required

  • 2+ years in creative operations, digital asset management, marketing operations, or content systems administration; brand-side or agency-side experience valuable

  • Hands-on experience with Salsify or a comparable Product Information Management (PIM) platform is preferred. Experience in digital merchandising or managing product content, taxonomy, and syndication within an eCommerce environment is also highly valued.

  • CPG experience valuable - multi-brand portfolio environments build the discipline this role requires

  • Hands-on experience administering a DAM (Aprimo, Frontify, Adobe AEM, or comparable)

  • Demonstrated experience maintaining taxonomy, metadata, and rights management at scale

  • Experience supporting users across creative, brand, and agency teams

  • Working knowledge of work management and creative review platform

What would be your key responsibilities?

DAM Administration & Metadata Discipline

  • Owns day-to-day operation of the Digital Asset Management system: user access, taxonomy governance, metadata standards, folder structures, rights and usage fields

  • Enforces consistent tagging, naming conventions, and structured metadata so assets are findable, reusable, and reportable

Product Data & PIM Management

  • Manage and maintain product data within the Product Information Management (PIM) system, ensuring it serves as the source of truth for active products and in-market assortment. Create, update, and optimize product attributes and metadata to ensure accurate, complete, and consistent product information.

  • Own the ongoing administration of the PIM, including creating new fields, managing product attributes, and maintaining data governance standards to support evolving business needs.

  • Partner with Brand.com and Retail digital merchandising teams to ensure product content is accurately maintained in the PIM and effectively delivered to product detail pages (PDPs) across digital channels.

Data Hygiene & System Integrity

  • Runs ongoing cleanup of duplicate assets, broken links, expired rights, and stale records; maintains the integrity that analytics, reporting, and reuse all depend on

Rights & Usage Tracking

  • Owns the operational layer of talent, music, image, and footage rights: expiration dates, usage limits, renewal flags

  • Partners with legal and Content Operations Managers when rights questions need escalation

System Integrations

  • Coordinates the data flow between DAM,PIM,work management tools, brand portals, and downstream channel systems; flags breaks and partners with the MarTech & Workflow Manager and IT on fixes

User Support & Enablement

  • Serves as the first line of support for Managers, brand teams, and agency partners using content systems; trains new users and maintains documentation

Reporting Support

  • Pulls standardized reports from content systems; partners with the Analyst on data extracts and source validation

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Day-to-day systems partner to Content Operations Managers, Digital Content Specialists, the Analyst, and the Product Owner; protects the standards the function depends on

What can you expect from Mars?

  • Opportunity to bring your pet to work.

  • Commitment to create a safe, healthy, and sustainable world for our partners and the communities in which we operate.

  • Commitment to make A Better World For Pets a world where they're healthy, happy and welcome

  • Commitment to our consumers and focus on positively impacting the planet and the population.
