Hourly Email Developer information

What is an hourly email developer?

Hourly Email Developers are professionals who specialize in designing, coding, and testing email templates and campaigns, and who are compensated based on the number of hours they work rather than a fixed salary or per-project rate. They often work with marketing teams or agencies to ensure emails are visually appealing, responsive on different devices, and compatible with various email clients. Their responsibilities may include troubleshooting rendering issues, integrating dynamic content, and following best practices for deliverability and accessibility. Hiring hourly allows businesses flexibility to scale resources as needed for short-term projects or ongoing campaigns.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an hourly email developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Hourly Email Developer, you need strong HTML/CSS coding skills, a keen eye for design, and experience with responsive email development, often supported by a relevant portfolio. Familiarity with email marketing platforms like Mailchimp or Salesforce Marketing Cloud, as well as knowledge of email testing tools such as Litmus or Email on Acid, is typically required. Attention to detail, time management, and clear communication are crucial soft skills for meeting deadlines and collaborating with clients or teams. These skills ensure the delivery of high-performing, visually appealing emails that render correctly across devices and drive successful marketing campaigns.

How does an hourly email developer typically collaborate with marketing teams and other stakeholders?

As an Hourly Email Developer, you'll frequently work closely with marketing teams, designers, and project managers to turn campaign concepts into responsive, visually appealing email templates. Effective communication is essential, as you'll need to interpret creative briefs, clarify requirements, and provide technical expertise on email best practices and limitations. You may also be responsible for testing emails across various email clients and troubleshooting rendering issues, ensuring campaigns are delivered on time and meet brand standards. This collaborative environment allows you to contribute technical solutions while gaining insights into broader marketing strategies.

Job description

Description

Team: Ramsey Trusted/EntreLeadership

Location: Franklin, TN—on-site, relocation assistance available, flexible schedules available

Salary: Range depends on skill level and overall experience and includes profit sharing + benefits.

A Little Bit About Us: You might know us from our founder and CEO, Dave Ramsey, who’s given no-nonsense money advice on the radio since 1992. Three decades later, Ramsey Solutions is a household name in personal finance, with a mission to change the toxic money culture for good.

Our Mission: Ramsey Solutions provides biblically based, commonsense education and empowerment that give HOPE to everyone in every walk of life.

Here’s a Taste of Our Benefits:
  • Health insurance (includes plans eligible for an HSA—with a company match up to $500!)
  • 401(k) retirement plan with 4% match/company contribution
  • Annual wellness, counseling and grocery membership reimbursement
  • On-campus cafe with subsidized pricing for breakfast, lunch and coffee bar
  • Dependent care FSA
  • Tons of cultural activities, like weekly devotional, leadership development courses, Battle of the Bands, and one epic Christmas party!
Where and How You’d Work:
Ramsey Solutions Headquarters is located just outside of Nashville in Franklin, Tennessee. We value our strong, unified company culture because we believe the best work is done together. That’s why all of our team members work on-site under the same roof. But work-life balance is also important to us, so we offer flexible work schedules to take the stress out of appointments, family obligations and other needs that may pop up.

While every team member has a designated workspace (with an electronic sit-stand desk), our campus was designed to house a variety of unique work and play zones (e.g., quiet library space, coffee bar/lounge areas, recreational game zone, and outside/patio work and break areas).

What You’d Do in This Role:
We are looking for an Email Marketing Specialist to be a part of our EntreLeadership Marketing team! In this role, you'll help drive impactful email campaigns across the customer lifecycle, supporting coaching memberships, event attendance, onboarding, engagement, and retention while partnering with cross-functional marketing teams to advance shared business goals.

You’re Probably a Match If:
  • You have 2+ years of hands-on email marketing experience managing campaigns from planning through execution.
  • You have technical experience working with HTML, CSS, and an email service provider (ESP) to build, test, and deploy email campaigns.
  • You have experience developing audience segmentation, email nurture journeys, and A/B tests that improve campaign performance.
  • You have experience using Google Analytics 4 to analyze campaign performance and make data-driven recommendations.
  • You enjoy collaborating with marketers and other cross-functional partners to improve marketing effectiveness and customer engagement.
What Winning Looks Like:
  • Execute email campaigns that reach the right audience at the right time while supporting coaching memberships, event attendance, and customer engagement.
  • Analyze campaign performance, report results, and use data to recommend improvements to future campaigns.
  • Maintain accurate and effective email nurture journeys that support customers throughout the lifecycle.
  • Ensure email campaigns follow regulatory requirements and organizational best practices through regular testing and compliance reviews.
  • Partner effectively with marketers and stakeholders to improve email strategy, execution, and overall marketing performance.
Other Stuff to Know:
We’re looking for people who are passionate about our mission. This isn’t just a J-O-B. We experience resistance every day because what we believe is absolutely countercultural. We actually hate debt. We actually cut up our credit cards . . . like, for real. Some of us are still fighting our way out of debt, but we aren’t going back. If you don’t know much about Ramsey Solutions and our founder, Dave Ramsey, we encourage you to download the Ramsey Network mobile app and consume our content.

If Ramsey Solutions sounds like a workplace where you can get excited about Mondays, apply today. We can’t wait to hear from you!
