Job Overview:

This position is responsible for interacting with key users to support the data analytics and information

needs within Mercedes-Benz Financial Services (MBFS). This includes consulting with MBFS business areas on business needs, translating business needs into analytics/BI requirements, developing analytics/BI solutions and interfacing with the business area to ensure successful customer outcomes. This position also provides advanced technical support for business areas and is responsible for enhancing the MBFS Data Management environments to support customer data requirements. This position will also create/maintain technical design documentation to ensure capture of relevant meta data in support of the data management domain.

Responsibilities:

1. Data Analytics Solution Development - using various data anlytics tools, work with business

areas to provide leadership on independent initiatives, facilitate information gathering,

develop structured documentation, and present findings to business analysts, team leaders,

and managers. Develop/maintain dashboards, analytics, and other data visualizations that

provide business insight. This includes gathering and analyzing requirements from business

users and developing BI solutions. This includes advanced support for SQL/Visualizations/End

User Computing (EUC) applications for internal customers (40%)

2. Data Management - Partner with the business, IT, and the DIAA to enhance the data

analytics environment to meet future business needs. Work with business SMEs to identify and

close existing gaps in the data analytics environment. Develop and write business

requirements for the changes to the Data Management landscape. Modify and create data

mart specifications based on data requests. Analyze and assess impacts to the data warehouse

and BI landscape for key project initiatives. Collaborate with IT partners to translate business

requirements into technical specifications for IT supported system solutions. (25%)

3. Project management - Support EPM and Business Intelligence owned projects. Participate in

MBFS Data domain initiatives and projects to assess impact to the domain. Meet project

schedules, identify potential issues and develop work-arounds as needed to ensure continuity

of BI solutions. (10%)

4. Data Preparation - Develop and maintain curated data sets needed to support the

Advanced Analytics group use cases. (5%

5. Ad Hoc BI Support - Develop and maintain reports and data extracts owned by the Data

Insights and Advanced Analytics group. Provide advanced technical support to the business

analysts as needed using various BI tools including usage review and performance tuning.

Support the business as necessary to clear audit/compliance conditions. (20%)

Qualifications:

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. at the time of application. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position. 
This position requires a minimum of 1 years of overall work experience. Preferred experience includes:

  • Business-General: 1 year
  • Information Technology: 1 year
  • Strategy

Education:
Bachelor's Degree is required, Master's Degree is preferred. Recommended majors include:

  • Accounting
  • Business Administration
    Additional Knowledge:
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in SQL including use of advanced functions and statement types.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with BI tools.
  • Preferred BI tools include Power BI, Cognos Analytics
  • (Report Studio, Powerplay, Transformer, Workspace, Active Reports), SAS, and Tableau, Alteryx. Other
    relevant tools: R, Python.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in data warehouse and ETL preferred.

    -Preferred: Ability to assess data and logic within reporting tools and load processes to
    establish root cause of problems and provide recommendations for resolution.
    -Preferred: Experience in data preparation and data warehousing projects
    -Preferred: Good understanding of the Dimensional modeling.
    --Preferred: Knowledge/Experience in Agile/Scrum methodology and use of Jira.
    - All candidates will undergo a technical screening on their knowledge of Cognos, Tableau,
    Power BI and SQL.
