Job description

We're looking for a tax professional to build and scale the operational capabilities supporting Meta's partnership and investment portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of direct tax, state and local tax, business operations, and technology. In this role, you'll partner across Tax, Finance, Accounting, Legal, Treasury, Engineering, and business teams to transform complex tax requirements into scalable operating models. You'll help shape how Tax supports new business models by designing processes, strengthening governance, and driving technology-enabled solutions that enable growth. Success in this role requires someone who enjoys solving ambiguous problems, building new capabilities, influencing across organizations, and translating complex tax requirements into practical operational solutions that enable business growth. Success will be measured not only by operational execution, but by your ability to build lasting capabilities that allow Tax to scale alongside the business.
Responsibilities
Lead the development of operational capabilities and define the long-term strategy supporting Meta's growing portfolio of partnerships and strategic investments.
• Partner with business stakeholders during transaction planning to identify operational tax requirements and enable efficient execution.
• Design, implement, and continuously improve scalable operating models and standardized processes that translate complex tax requirements into repeatable, well-controlled business processes.
• Serve as the primary operational tax partner across Tax, Accounting, Finance, Legal, Treasury, Engineering, and business organizations, building trusted relationships and influencing without direct authority.
• Partner closely with tax teams to support property tax, business licenses, state registrations, tax incentives, and other indirect tax obligations, coordinating K-1 processes and partnership reporting with Direct Tax and external advisors.
• Influence cross-functional decisions by balancing technical tax requirements, operational scalability, and business objectives.
• Champion innovation and continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to simplify manual processes and leverage automation to improve efficiency.
• Design and maintain the operating framework-including governance, controls, documentation standards, data management, and cross-functional accountability-ensuring audit-ready operational processes.
• Identify operational risks and implement sustainable mitigation strategies, ensuring processes remain scalable, compliant, and aligned with Meta's control environment.
• Partner with Engineering and Tax Technology to automate partnership and investment tax processes, improving data quality, reporting, and operational visibility through scalable technology solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
• 10+ years of progressive experience in public accounting, industry, or a combination of both
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA or equivalent professional certification
• Experience supporting partnership taxation, strategic investments, or complex tax operations
• Experience with state and local tax and indirect tax matters, including partnering across tax disciplines to support operational and compliance requirements
• Demonstrated success leading large cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders across multiple organizations
• Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments while driving scalable solutions
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting large multinational organizations
• Experience with partnership structures, joint ventures, infrastructure investments, or real estate transactions
• Experience working across both direct tax and state & local tax functions
• Experience with non-income tax matters, including property tax, business licensing, registrations, or other operational tax requirements associated with complex business activities
• Experience designing scalable operating models, governance frameworks, or tax processes
• Experience partnering with Engineering, Product, or Technology organizations on automation initiatives
• Demonstrated systems thinking with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
