Location: Maple Grove, MN 55311
Duration: 12+ Months Contract (with possible extension)
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, standard business hours
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Technician III to support a pilot production environment focused on the assembly and testing of complex electro-mechanical systems. This role involves working on advanced electronic products and support equipment, contributing to both production and new product introduction efforts.
You will collaborate closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to execute builds, troubleshoot issues, and help transition new designs into production while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
What You'll Do
  • Perform assembly and testing of complex electro-mechanical components and systems
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions
  • Execute both repetitive and non-repetitive assembly tasks across subassemblies and final systems
  • Operate electronic test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters) and document results
  • Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of assembly and test issues
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across production processes
  • Assist in transitioning new products from prototype to production
  • Maintain a safe, compliant, and organized work environment
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional team members
  • Work extended hours or weekends as needed
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proficiency with electronic test equipment and assembly tools
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail
  • Fine motor skills for precision assembly at micro/nano scale with near-zero defects
  • Familiarity with J-STD-001 (or willingness to learn)
  • Experience using measurement and assembly tools (e.g., micrometers, torque wrenches)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience providing feedback to improve design, fabrication, and testing processes
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience with automated test equipment (ATE) or Cirris systems
  • Knowledge of electronic and electrical system diagnostics
  • Training or familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 and J-STD-001 standards
  • Basic machining knowledge
  • Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate (2-year) technical degree or
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on technician experience in a production or prototype environment
Preferred Education & Experience
  • Associate degree and 2+ years of relevant technician experience in production or prototype settings
