We are looking for a Sr Messaging Platform Engineer to support and enhance enterprise messaging services for a leading organization in the Financial Services industry in Los Angeles, California. This Long-term Contract position focuses on maintaining secure, reliable email and collaboration platforms across hybrid environments while helping ensure strong service availability and operational stability. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise across Microsoft messaging technologies, directory services, and email security, along with a practical approach to troubleshooting and platform support.


Responsibilities:

โ€ข Administer and optimize enterprise messaging platforms, including Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft 365 Enterprise, and hybrid cloud email environments.

โ€ข Manage directory-integrated messaging services by supporting Active Directory and Azure Active Directory configurations tied to mail flow and user access.

โ€ข Monitor and strengthen email security controls, including Exchange Online Protection, to help protect the organization from messaging threats and service disruptions.

โ€ข Investigate and resolve complex mail flow, SMTP, DNS, network, and platform-related issues to maintain dependable communication services.

โ€ข Perform day-to-day operational support activities for messaging infrastructure, ensuring performance, availability, and adherence to service expectations.

โ€ข Partner with security and infrastructure teams to respond to incidents affecting messaging systems and to support remediation efforts.

โ€ข Support messaging access and delivery across related technologies, including Citrix-based environments and Windows Server platforms.

โ€ข Contribute to system maintenance, configuration updates, and continuous improvement initiatives for enterprise messaging services.

โ€ข Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft 365 Enterprise, and hybrid messaging environments.

โ€ข Proficiency in Active Directory and Azure Active Directory administration within enterprise settings.

โ€ข Knowledge of email security practices, including Exchange Online Protection and SMTP-based mail routing.

โ€ข Solid troubleshooting skills across messaging platforms, DNS, and basic network connectivity issues.

โ€ข Experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server environments that host or integrate with messaging services.
