Orthopedic Surgery Locum Tenens Opportunity – MercyOne Waterloo & Cedar Falls!

MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center (Waterloo, IA) and MercyOne Cedar Falls Medical Center (Cedar Falls, IA) are seeking an Orthopedic Surgery Physician to provide locum tenens call-only coverage during scheduled provider time off.

This high‑impact role covers inpatient and call at both facilities with no clinic responsibilities required.


Coverage Dates Needed
  • Wednesday, August 5 at 7:00 AM → Monday, August 10 at 7:00 AM
  • Monday, October 26 at 7:00 AM → Friday, November 6 at 7:00 AM
+ PRN as needed

Orthopedic Surgeon will provide:

  • Comprehensive history & physical exams, admits, evaluations, and diagnostics
  • Treatment and consultation for conditions of the extremities, spine, and musculoskeletal system
  • Management of:
    • Trauma
    • Infections
    • Tumors
    • Metabolic disturbances
    • Deformities
    • Degenerative diseases
    • Injuries (hands, feet, knee, hip, shoulder, elbow)
    • Primary/secondary muscular issues
    • Conditions resulting from CNS/PNS lesions
  • Coverage and assessment in emergent orthopedic situations
  • Providing patient care in the intensive care setting if needed (per unit policies)
  • Stabilization, assessment, and disposition of emergency consults
