Find your calling at Mercy! Under the direction of the RN or LPN, assists in the individualized care of the patient to achieve the patients highest level of wellness. Works cooperatively with others as part of a team; recognizes the importance of group goals. Performs designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to providing care to the patient. Position Details: ???? Mercy Rehab Hospital???? Hours / Shift:

  • 3 / 12-hour shifts
  • Day shift or Nights! 7 am -7pm or 7 pm -7am
  • ???? Rotating weekends and holidays

  • Advancement through career ladder to Patient Care Technician (PCT) and beyond

???? Patient Care Associate (PCA) Responsibilities:

  • ???? Obtain and document vital signs in the electronic medical record
  • ???? Assist with meals, bathing, toileting, ambulation, mobility, and transport
  • ???? Provide clerical support as needed

???? Patient Care Technician (PCT) Responsibilities:

  • All PCA duties
  • ???? Phlebotomy / blood cultures
  • ???? Enteral feeding
  • ???? Wound care
  • ???? IV / Foley removal
  • ???? Trach care and suctioning

???? Training

  • Our PCA training program is an accredited Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program offering hands-on experience in a supportive healthcare environment
  • No experience? Mercy provides a 175-hour required training program meeting DHSS requirements (completed within 90 days of hire)
  • BLS required within 1 month of hire
  • PCA competencies completed within 3 months of hire

  • ???? High school diploma or G.E.D
  • ???? CNA / CPTC OR enrolled in a high school healthcare career program
  • ???? Current Mercy co-worker also eligible
