Job description

POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for coordinating marketing efforts, including project management, attending project team meetings, delivery of internal and external communications, collateral production, event organization, research, collaborative input and general assistance. Assists in the design, production and proof reading of annual reports, newsletters, direct mailings, statement inserts, script messages, advertising and media relations. Assists in the coordination of special on-site/ off site promotional events. Maintains the credit union's branch merchandising and giveaway items. Performs marketing research as needed. Ensures that the credit union's professional reputation and brand are projected and maintained.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Assumes responsibility for developing and maintaining effective communications with members, credit union personnel, and ad agencies/vendors.

  1. Create and/or collaborate on the creation of newsletters, brochures, direct mailings, and advertisements, markting material, etc.
  2. Maintain inventory and printing for envelopes, stationery, business cards, and all forms & documents.
  3. Writes and distributes press realeases, proofs statement messages, Mocse eNews and on-hold messages.
  4. Maintain inventory of all giveaway items and work with Director of Business Development reviewing donation requests as received.
  5. Assist with special events planning and set up.
  6. Ensures that the credit union's professional reputation and brand are maintained.
  7. Assist with coordinating promotional campaigns through collaborative input at marketing meetings, placement of media as directed, organization of timelines and outside placement.
  8. Ensures brand awareness through social media channels.
  9. Assists with the development and implementation of the annual marketing calendar.
  10. Point of contact for staff and member inquiries about promotional and marketing programs.

Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with Credit Union personnel and with management.

  1. Attends and supports credit union meetings and activities.
  2. Provides suggestions to management for better member service.
  3. Completes required reports, records, and related documents accurately and promptly.
  4. Assist VP of Administration with campaign ROI and tracking.
  5. Analyze marketing promotions.
  6. Understand compliance duties, adhere to regulations, and attend training as related to the position.

Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

  1. Stays informed of developments in the marketing field and attends classes as requested for continued education.
  2. Ensures that work area is clean, organized, and well maintained.
  3. Completes special projects as assigned.
  4. Assist in preparation or marketing awards entries.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

  1. Marketing functions are well coordinated with other credit union functions and supports organizational objectives.
  2. Marketing research is valid, reliable, and a useful tool for management.
  3. Service and product needs of current and prospective members are identified and met.
  4. Good working relationships exist with credit union personnel. Assistance and training is provided as needed.
  5. Professional and effective public relations are maintained.
  6. Management is appropriately informed of area activities.
  7. Required reports are accurate and timely.
  8. Suggestions for improved performance are provided.
  9. Actively participate in team meetings, goals and tasks - departmental and organizational
  10. Supports Mocse Credit Union's Values and abides by Code of Conduct.
  11. Cooperate with supervisor in the Performance Management process.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

  • Associate degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field or a High School Diploma with two years equivalent experience.

Required Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of credit union products and services.
  • Understanding of sales and promotion techniques.
  • Proficient proofreading skills.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of two years' marketing experience in the credit union industry.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and public relations skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Strong project management abilities.
  • Proven ability to prioritize work, set deadlines, and complete projects on a timely and efficient basis.
  • Solid writing skills.
  • Understanding of computer applications with an emphasis on layout and design.
