We are currently seeking a Visual Merchandising Manager to join our team based out of our Fairfield, NJ headquarters. This role follows a hybrid schedule, with three days per week onsite and the remaining days working remotely. Standard hours are 8:30am to 5:30pm
About the role:
The Visual Merchandising Manager plays a key role in elevating the Phillip Jeffries showroom experience through innovative, luxury-level visual displays and consistent execution across all locations. This position blends creative design, project management, and leadership to drive brand storytelling, sales impact, and operational excellence within the Visual Merchandising team.
This role also includes leadership responsibilities and close collaboration with cross-functional partners across Marketing, Sales, Product Marketing, and Showroom teams.
What You Will Be Doing:
Creative Visual Merchandising
  • Design and execute elevated visual displays that communicate product launches, campaigns, and brand stories
  • Develop and implement showroom props, florals, styling elements, and immersive display experiences
  • Lead design and execution for tradeshows, pop-up showrooms, and experiential environments
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales to ensure visual storytelling supports business objectives
  • Research trends across luxury retail, hospitality, and design to inform innovation and customer engagement

Showroom Merchandising and Standards
  • Develop and maintain merchandising standards and frameworks that ensure consistent execution across all showrooms
  • Review showroom plans, vignette selections, and display initiatives for alignment with brand positioning
  • Evaluate showroom performance and recommend improvements to presentation and customer experience
  • Support the creation of merchandising tools, training materials, and scalable systems

Project Management and Execution
  • Own projects from concept through installation, ensuring delivery against scope, timeline, and budget
  • Build and manage project plans, resources, and risks across multiple priorities
  • Track project progress, communicate updates, and identify solutions to challenges
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes, tools, and operational efficiency

Showroom Experience
  • Conduct showroom audits and ensure consistent execution of brand standards
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer experience and showroom performance
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to enhance visual storytelling across global locations

Leadership Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and support to Visual Merchandising team members
  • Assign and prioritize work, ensuring projects are completed on time and at a high standard
  • Support team development through coaching, feedback, and performance management
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment aligned with PJ values

What You Bring
Experience and Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Merchandising, or a related field
  • 4- 6 years of experience in visual merchandising or store design, ideally within luxury or premium retail
  • Strong portfolio showcasing creative display work and showroom execution
  • Understanding of retail, sales, and marketing strategies within the luxury design space
  • Ability to travel for projects approximately three days per month

Skills
  • Strong visual storytelling and spatial design skills
  • Confident use of color theory and product placement
  • Knowledge of wallcovering installation and related calculations
  • Project planning, timeline tracking, and risk management
