Merchandiser


Organizational Overview


CSA Distributing formed as a full state distributor for Crooked Stave as the demand for the highest quality craft beer grew rapidly in Colorado. Reporting Relationships

This position reports to the Chain Accounts Manager


Position Overview

The Merchandiser is responsible for the organization of product within chain and key independent accounts. This includes delivering and rotating products, setting up displays, maintaining shelf conditions, and hosting events/tastings.


This is a full-time hourly position and is considered non-exempt for the purposes of federal wage-law and therefore eligible for overtime pay at time and a half for hours worked in excess of 40 in a given workweek or 12 in a given 24-hour workday. We expect this position not to exceed 40 hours a week.


Essential Functions


  • Work independently with little supervision to develop and maintain effective customer relationships.


  • Proper merchandising of accounts with point of sale (POS) advertising, including set up and organization of displays and seasonal merchandising plans.


  • Conduct promotions in accounts on a regular basis.


  • Maintain a regular schedule of appointments with accounts.


  • Maintain general inventory controls, move and organize new products, managing back-stock of products.


  • Perform Hot Shots (direct deliveries) as needed.


  • Step in as a relief sales rep as needed.


  • Know your customers’ needs and understand what is going on in the marketplace.


  • Other duties as assigned.



Core Competencies


  • Must be punctual, professional, self-motivated and employ effective time management skills.


  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written with clients, coworkers and supervisors in the primary language used in the workplace; ability to read and write orders.


  • Must be able to continuously sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and lift, carry and handle 50 lbs. up to 170 lbs.


  • Must be able to work in varying temperatures.


  • Ability to operate U-boats, dollies and pallet jacks in tight spaces.


  • Basic computer skills and demonstrated proficiency with handheld mobile computers required.



Required Education and Experience


  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record


  • Two or more years of relevant work experience in a related role is desired.


  • Prior experience in distribution is a plus, but is not required.


  • An Associate's or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.


  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
