This role oversees a team of Regional and Area Visual Merchandisers, partnering closely with Merchandising, Buying, Marketing, Store Operations, and Creative teams to develop compelling showroom presentations that drive sales, strengthen the brand, and maximize the customer experience.

The ideal candidate is a creative leader with a strong background in visual merchandising, showroom design, and retail operations who can balance strategic planning with hands-on execution while developing high-performing teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop, and mentor the Visual Merchandising team, providing direction, coaching, and performance management to Regional and Area Visual Merchandisers.
  • Develop and execute visual merchandising strategies that enhance the customer experience while supporting company sales and merchandising objectives.
  • Partner with Buying, Merchandising, Marketing, and Creative teams to develop cohesive product presentations, seasonal campaigns, and showroom layouts that support company initiatives.
  • Lead a team of designers to develop innovative, market-driven product concepts and showroom presentations.
  • Ensure visual merchandising standards are consistently executed across all showroom locations and maintained according to company standards.
  • Provide leadership in showroom planning, floor layouts, product placement, and merchandising strategies to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Accessory Buying team on accessory selections and attend bi-annual furniture and accessory markets to identify emerging trends and merchandising opportunities.
  • Stay current on industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitive merchandising strategies to continually evolve the Rooms To Go showroom experience.
  • Oversee merchandising timelines and project execution to ensure new product launches, promotions, and showroom updates are completed on schedule.
  • Manage departmental payroll, scheduling, and timekeeping for Regional and Area Visual Merchandisers.
  • Monitor merchandising execution, showroom maintenance, and presentation standards across all assigned locations.
  • Support annual and mid-year inventory activities while helping minimize merchandise damage and protect company assets.
  • Build strong relationships with Store Operations and leadership teams to ensure consistent communication and successful implementation of merchandising initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in visual merchandising, retail merchandising, interior design, or showroom management, including leadership experience.
  • Proven experience leading creative and merchandising teams in a multi-location retail environment.
  • Strong understanding of visual merchandising principles, space planning, product presentation, color coordination, and customer shopping behavior.
  • Experience collaborating with buying, merchandising, marketing, and operations teams to execute company initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining brand standards.
  • Ability to analyze merchandising performance and make data-driven recommendations to improve showroom effectiveness.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with merchandising, space planning, or design software is a plus.
