BRAND MANAGER - PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
IMPACT ON BUSINESS:
As we continue to expand, our products continue to grow right along with us--in volume and complexity. That is why we need a highly skilled Brand Manager in our Apparel Division to help move us forward.
As a Brand Manager, you will shape the aesthetic vision, financial strategies, seasonal concepts, and line assortments for designated businesses within our Exclusive Brands for Bealls and Bealls Florida divisions.
You will serve as the leader in guiding your team to align the business metrics to the product, introducing new, innovative, and trend-appropriate initiatives that will surprise and delight our guests every day. Because our product development efforts are currently handled by cross-functional teams, you will be instrumental in liaising communications with merchant partners, sourcing partners, import production teams, and key stakeholders to drive the highest quality products at incredible values.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES [Essential Functions]:
  • Drives the merchandising strategy of targeted brands with a dedicated design team, in partnership with key stakeholders to achieve sales and profitability goals.
  • Owns the brand architecture and upholds the integrity of the brand identity throughout cross-pollinated classifications.
  • Serves as a business design expert and is accountable for the brands' financial success.
  • Manages the design team through product development process from concept to finalization.
  • Owns product development time & action calendar in partnership with sourcing partners to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Commands the design aesthetic vision, through artistry and trend scouting to create compelling products that are one step ahead.
  • Incorporates marketplace influences and consumer insights to deliver actionable, trend appropriate initiatives including color guidance, new fabrics, innovative technology, and design direction.
  • Leads working sessions and collaborates with internal and external partners, gaining consensus on business drivers, price, value equations, and assortment composition.
  • Understands our target guests and frequently shops stores to provide competitive analysis to enhance brand initiatives.
  • Evaluates internal data reporting to interpret performance and nurture assortment improvements.
  • Initiates offset strategies to overcome challenging and/or discontinued businesses.
  • Travels to market domestically and serves as a company ambassador to deliver win-win solutions and establish long-term business growth plans.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:
  • Relevant experience in building a brand strategy and tying business metrics to the product.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Passionate about design and products that serve the target audience.
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate across multiple business partners, both internal and external.
  • A strong sense of urgency and ability to strategize solutions under aggressive deadlines.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in retail math, best seller analysis, competitive landscape analysis, and trend analysis.
  • Strategic thinker with superb organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Domestic travel and negotiation experience.
  • Advanced data analysis skills.
  • Self-starter with excellent project management and leadership skills.
