As a vital member of our team, the Merchandise Handler I plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and efficient receiving and/or shipping operations in our distribution center. This is a strategic, detail-oriented role perfect for someone who is deeply committed to safety and passionate about delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.
A day in the life as a Merchandise Handler I...
  • Loads / unloads trailers using dollies or motorized equipment
  • Operates all material handling equipment safely: stand-up type forklift (PE, PC, RC)
  • Responsible for building stable pallets of merchandise
  • Responsible for staging unloaded products
  • Communicates any problems to the supervisor including issues with the merchandise location system or with the merchandise being loaded / unloaded
  • Cleans up and disposes boxes, packing material, and pallets, as well as general housekeeping of facility and specific product line areas
  • Rotates through different departments, as necessary, to meet the demands of the business
  • Participates in ongoing training regarding technology upgrades and new systems applicable to the position
  • Performs all job tasks assigned by the leadership staff to achieve and maintain daily productivity and quality goals
