REPORTS TO: Director, Special Event Operations 

DIRECT REPORTS: Sr. Special Event Crew/ Merch Sales 

STATUS: Full-Time; Exempt 

Your role as Manager, Finest Merchandise: 

The Merchandise Manageris responsible forthe day-to-day management of merchandise operations for Gallagher Square concerts and Full Venue Concert Merchandising, serving as the lead point of contact for touring artist merchandise teams. This role directly manages Sr. Special Event Crew sellers, ensuresaccurateinventory and settlement processes, manages off-site merchandise, and delivers high-quality guest experience at all points of sale. This role is responsible for growing this business to meet our organizational goals. The role also provides season-long management and support to Lock and Go operations. 

All the responsibilities we trust you with: 

  • Manage merchandise operations for all Gallagher Square shows and support Full Venue Concert Merchandising 

  • Serve as the lead point of contact for Gallagher Square merchandise shows, liaising directly with touring artist teams and merchandise contacts 

  • Hire, train, direct and supervise all Sr. Special Event Crew seller positions on merchandise and lock and go shifts 

  • Accurately count in and count out merchandise inventory before and after each show 

  • Prepare and deliver settlement sheets to artists and venue/partner stakeholders 

  • OperateAtVenupoint-of-sale and inventory software for sales tracking and reporting 

  • Coordinate and manage off-site merchandise sales andlogistics 

  • Set up andmaintainneat, brand-appropriate merchandise displays 

  • Maintain inventory and equipment controls, including reconciliation and loss prevention 

  • Ensure a high standard of guest experience at all merchandise locations 

  • Reportmerchandise revenue after each homestand 

  • Support Lock and Go operations throughout the season, including setup, monitoring, and breakdown 

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Special Events programming 

  • Detail oriented, ability to multitask, previous Merchandise and Events experience a plus 

  • Represents the Club in a positive and professional manner at all times 

  • Other duties as assigned 

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most: 

  • Prior experience in event merchandising, retail operations, or concert/venue operations 

  • Working knowledge ofAtVenuor comparable merchandise/POS settlement software 

  • Demonstrated experience with inventory reconciliation, and settlement reporting 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for direct interaction with touring artist teams and partners 

  • Prior experience and ability to supervise and direct event-day staff in a fast-paced, live-event environment 

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple shows/events concurrently 

  • Comfortable with merchandising/visual display best practices 

  • Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc., and ability to learn and master new software programs 

  • Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and effectively work well with others in a collaborative, respectful manner 

  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills with capacity to handle high volumes of detailed work, multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines 

  • Maintain professional demeanor with a high degree of discretion, integrity, and accountability 

  • Maintain consistent, punctual, and have reliable attendance 

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus 

You will be required to meet the following: 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment 

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent. Some college preferred 

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in relevant fields 

  • Minimum 2 years of prior people management experience 

  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish highly preferred 

  • Able to work during Padres home games and other special events as needed, which will include weekends, holidays, and evenings 

  • Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds 

  • As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check 

Pay and additional compensation: 

Per the California pay transparency law, the salary range for this full-time position is $70,304-$75,000. As a candidate for this position, your pay and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills and any other factors the San Diego Padres considers relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
