Job description

Position Summary: The Intern, Brand Merchandise supports the Iowa Wild's retail operations by assisting with inventory management, game day store setup, and providing exceptional customer service to fans. This role helps maintain a positive and organized shopping environment while contributing to the execution of in-store promotions and merchandising strategies. By supporting both operational efficiency and fan satisfaction, the intern plays a valuable role in the success of the team's retail efforts.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
  • Support daily and game day merchandise operations with accuracy and efficiency.
    • Assist with all tasks pertaining to the Merchandise Operations Department.
    • Demonstrate ownership in helping organize and re-stock merchandise on game days.
    • Assist with inventory, tagging, barcoding of new inventory and the launching of new merchandise.
    • Help maintain stocked inventory, refresh merchandise placement, and accurate inventory counts.
    • Assist with operations pertaining to timelines and deliverables associated with retail campaigns.
    • Provide accuracy when completing transactions and using POS/register systems.
    • Fulfill e-commerce orders accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Assist in store set-up and tear-down on game days.
    • Be willing to work some extended hours on game days.
    • Be committed to working all the 2024-2025 Iowa Wild home games.
  • Deliver outstanding customer experiences and contribute to brand presentation.
    • Provide excellent customer service on game days and during online sales transactions.
    • Keep up with current promotions and sales in-store and online.
    • Provide a positive and fun environment for our Iowa Wild staff and fan base.
    • Innovative thinker in retail marketing and product merchandising.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
Formal Education & Certification:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Knowledge & Experience:
  • One year of retail experience preferred.
  • Proficient in product photography and photoshop skills.
  • Experience in customer service, retail merchandising, and the sports industry preferred.
  • Innovative thinker in retail marketing and product merchandising.

Personal Attributes:
  • Outgoing personality who can interact with fans in a positive and engaging manner.
  • Highly organized and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Great attention to detail in tasks associated with merchandise operations to prepare for event days.
  • Service oriented.

Work Conditions:
  • Ability to work approximately 20-25 hours per week.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed for games and events.
  • Physical requirements include sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, lifting, grasping, etc.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
