Description

The Delivery Driver is responsible for safe, accurate and timely delivery of products to customers. This position includes loading and unloading products, verifying orders, providing excellent customer service and maintaining delivery equipment in good working condition.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate company delivery vehicles to transport products to customer locations.
  • Load and unload products using pallet jacks, hand trucks or other equipment.
  • Verify orders for accuracy and obtain customer signatures upon delivery.
  • Perform all rotation, stocking & merchandising delivery functions as directed.
  • Provide friendly, professional customer service and resolve delivery-related concerns.
  • Follow assigned routes and schedules while complying with DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain delivery vehicle cleanliness and perform routine inspections (fuel, fluids, tires, etc.).
  • Comply with all A&B safety standards, including submitting all documents as required.
  • Adhere to all company policies and state and federal regulations.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older 
  • Valid Driver's license with clean driving record
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Current DOT Physical required or be able to obtain one upon employment
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1+ years of delivery driving experience
  • 1+ years customer service, retail, sales, or service industry experience
  • Ability to operate pallet jacks, hand trucks and other warehouse/delivery equipment
  • Ability to obtain pallet jack certification


Preferred:

  • 3 + years of delivery driving experience
  • 3+ years of customer service, sales or service industry experience
  • Experience in the beverage distribution Industry
  • Knowledge of sales applications within ERP software (i.e. Encompass)


Driver Hiring Standards

  • No more than three (3) moving violations combined in the past three (3) years as listed on your Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) or Pre-Employment Screen Report (PSR)
  • No serious violations in the past three (3) years as listed on the MVR or PSR (Including driving under the influence, license suspension, felonies, possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving, hit and run accidents, eluding police, violating a state or local law prohibiting texting or use of hand-held mobile phones while driving a CMV.
  • No more than two (2) preventable accidents in the past three (3) years as listed on the MVR, PSR or driver application.
  • No preventable crashes involving the following situations in the past three (3) years as listed on the MVR, PSR or driver application (at fault rear-end collisions, rollovers or jackknife, head on collisions).
  • Not have had three (3) or more jobs in the past twelve (12) months.
  • No failure or refusal of drug or alcohol tests.
  • No abandonment of vehicles, equipment or products.




Physical Requirements: This role requires regular standing, walking and reaching. Must be able to regularly lift and move products ranging from 25 to 170 pounds, as well as climb, reach, and perform other physical movements necessary to carry out the essential duties of the position. Position requires wearing steel-toed footwear.
