We've built something people genuinely want to wear and be associated with, and now we're ready to meet that demand in a bigger, more intentional way.

We're looking for a Director of Retail to lead that next chapter. You'll own the P&L, shape the product assortment strategy, select and build out the platform, and develop the vendor ecosystem, translating the energy and loyalty of the [solidcore] community into a retail experience that's as premium and desirable as the workout itself.

This role sits within the Brand team and reports directly to the SVP of Brand.

We're looking for a Director of Retail to lead that next chapter. You'll own the P&L, shape the product assortment strategy, select and build out the platform, and develop the vendor ecosystem, translating the energy and loyalty of the [solidcore] community into a retail experience that's as premium and desirable as the workout itself.

This role sits within the Brand team and reports directly to the SVP of Brand.ย 

Business & P&L

  • Own the e-commerce P&L end-to-end: revenue targets, margin, forecasting, and budget management
  • Develop and manage the annual retail business plan in partnership with Finance
  • Report on performance metrics regularly to Brand and C-suite leadership
  • Assortment & Product Strategy
  • Develop and manage a cohesive product assortment strategy across apparel/activewear, lifestyle items, and collab/limited-edition drops
  • Own the product calendar, including seasonal refreshes for always-on retail, as well as coordination with the Brand team on drops and collab launches
  • Coordinate with the Partnerships team to align on partner strategy where relevant, and collaborate on product development, launch and sell-through of co-branded items
  • Partner with Brand team colleagues to ensure all product and packaging is consistent with solidcore's visual identity and brand voice

Brand Merchandise Initiatives

  • Identify, source, and produce merchandise tied to key brand moments and campaigns, including [solidcore] challenges
  • Own vendor negotiation, inventory forecasting, and quantity planning for brand-driven merch initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and on brand

Platform & Operations

  • Lead platform evaluation and selection; own the build, whether it be internal or with an external partner, and ongoing management
  • Establish all operational infrastructure: inventory management, fulfillment, vendor contracts, and logistics, in partnership with Operations.
  • Build and manage vendor and supplier relationships, including contract negotiation and ongoing performance management

Physical Retail (Selective)

  • On a limited, case-by-case basis, evaluate whether select studios are candidates for in-studio retail, including financial feasibility, physical space approach, and assortment curation
  • When a retail opportunity is greenlit, lead end-to-end execution in coordination with the real estate, design and operations teams: space strategy, product selection, inventory, and financial planning

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with the Digital team on site experience, SEO, paid/organic traffic, and CRM/email integration
  • Work with Legal on vendor agreements, IP, and product compliance
  • Collaborate with Brand on campaigns, content, and editorial storytelling that drives traffic and conversion
What skills & experience you'll bring to us
  • 7-10 years of experience in e-commerce, retail buying/merchandising, or DTC brand management, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role
  • Demonstrated experience owning a retail or e-commerce P&L
  • Hands-on experience with e-commerce platform selection and/or management
  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills; experience building supplier relationships
  • Experience in apparel, activewear, or lifestyle product categories
  • Proven track record managing product calendars, inventory forecasting, and budget cycles
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator, comfortable working across Brand, Digital, Operations, Finance, and Legal
  • Experience developing or launching brand collaborations and/or limited-edition product drops is a strong plus
  • A genuine affinity for the [solidcore] brand and an intuitive sense of what "on brand" looks like in product and merch
