What job makes $1,000,000 a year?

High-level executive roles such as CEOs, investment bankers, and successful entrepreneurs can earn $1,000,000 or more annually. These positions often require extensive experience, advanced skills, and significant responsibility, with compensation including salary, bonuses, and stock options.

What can you do as a member of Mensa?

As a Mensa member, you can participate in intellectual and social activities, access exclusive events, and join special interest groups. Membership also provides opportunities for networking, personal development, and engaging in discussions with highly intelligent individuals.

What are some typical responsibilities and challenges faced by Mensa membership coordinators?

Mensa membership coordinators are responsible for managing member applications, organizing events, and maintaining communication with both new and existing members. One of the main challenges is ensuring a welcoming environment for a diverse group of highly intelligent individuals while maintaining confidentiality and data accuracy. Coordinators often collaborate with event planners, local group leaders, and national committees to foster engagement and deliver value to members. The role requires excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to adapt to the evolving needs of the organization.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Mensa member, and why are they important?

To become a Mensa member, individuals must demonstrate a high level of intelligence, typically measured by scoring in the top 2% on an approved IQ test. No specific technical tools or certifications are required beyond the qualifying test results. Strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and effective communication skills help members engage with diverse intellectual challenges and collaborate with other high-achieving individuals. These qualities foster a stimulating environment for intellectual growth, networking, and problem-solving within the organization.

What is the average salary of a Mensa member?

Mensa is a high IQ society and not a job or profession, so members do not have a specific average salary. Salaries among members vary widely depending on their careers, skills, and industries. Therefore, there is no standard salary associated with being a Mensa member.

What is the difference between Mensa vs Psychologist?

What is the minimum IQ to get into Mensa?

Mensa is a high IQ society that accepts individuals who score at or above the 98th percentile on a recognized intelligence test, which typically corresponds to an IQ of 130 or higher. The specific IQ score required can vary depending on the test used, but a standard cutoff is around 130. Candidates usually need to provide proof of test scores or take an approved Mensa test to qualify.

Job description

Location: Hurst, Texas (Hybrid – hybrid/on-site) Reports to: Executive Director/CEO | Leads: 4 direct reports

About American Mensa

This is an exciting time to join American Mensa. We believe intelligence has the power to solve problems, expand possibilities, and improve the world around us. Through programs, events, communications, and outreach, we connect bright minds—and help support learning, research, and broader understanding of giftedness.

American Mensa is a high-IQ society open to individuals who score in the top 2% on an accepted intelligence test—offering intellectual, social, and community opportunities. As the largest national Mensa organization operating under Mensa International, Ltd., we bring together a community united by curiosity, lifelong learning, and a shared belief that intellectual potential should be cultivated.

The opportunity

The Director of Growth Marketing & Brand Engagement is the organization’s primary driver of scalable lead generation, brand awareness, audience engagement, and revenue growth. You’ll lead both strategy and execution to deliver qualified leads into the membership pipeline, strengthen engagement through clear and consistent communication, and elevate the Mensa brand through compelling storytelling and innovative marketing. You’ll also partner with the Mensa Foundation through a shared services model to support engagement through giving. (The Foundation is a philanthropic 501(c)(3) founded in 1971 by members of American Mensa and is dedicated to fostering excellence in human intelligence through education, research, and recognition programs.) A key priority of this role is expanding awareness of Mensa’s gifted youth initiatives—helping parents, educators, schools, and communities recognize and nurture gifted potential.

What you’ll do

Lead Generation & Demand Engine

  • Design and execute a scalable, multi-channel digital strategy focused on generating qualified leads into the membership pipeline.
  • Develop and manage paid digital advertising (search, social, display) optimized for cost-per-lead and conversion.
  • Build and maintain automated lead-nurturing workflows in partnership with the Director of Information Systems.
  • Identify and activate new lead sources (e.g., SEO/SEM, content marketing, partnerships, community outreach, niche advertising).
  • Track, analyze, and report qualified leads by source; continuously optimize for volume and quality.
  • Collaborate with Membership & Connection to align marketing leads with conversion and onboarding strategies.

Brand Strategy & Identity

  • Serve as the organization’s brand steward—owning the brand voice, visual identity, and messaging across channels.
  • Develop and enforce brand guidelines in conjunction with the art director; ensure consistency across digital, print, events, and partner materials.
  • Build and evolve a compelling organizational narrative for prospective members, gifted youth, partners, and the public.
  • Lead brand activation initiatives to increase awareness of and affinity for Mensa.
  • Advise the Executive Director and Board on positioning, trends, and audience insights.

Digital Marketing & Social Media

  • Lead strategy and execution across digital platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, YouTube, and emerging channels.
  • Develop and manage a content calendar aligned with campaigns, events, and membership milestones.
  • Oversee website strategy, content architecture, SEO, and user experience as lead-gen and engagement tools.
  • Lead email marketing strategy (segmentation, automation, A/B testing, optimization).
  • Manage paid social/digital strategy, vendors, and budgets.

Brand-Driven Revenue Streams

  • Oversee and advise on marketing strategy and execution for the Mensa Store, licensing, and publications—driving efficiency, performance, and ROI.
  • Develop integrated campaigns connecting brand awareness to store/licensing goals.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize merchandise offerings, licensing/co-branding partnerships, and contractor relationships.

Content, Communications, PR & Crisis

  • Lead development of key communications (newsletters, annual reports, press releases, member publications).
  • Manage media and public relations strategy; support spokesperson preparation as needed.
  • Develop crisis communications plans and lead execution with the Executive Director.
  • Champion content marketing as a long-term lead generation and engagement strategy.

Team Leadership, Vendor Management & Analytics

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing internal team; conduct performance reviews and set clear goals.
  • Manage relationships with external agencies, designers, writers, and digital vendors.
  • Develop and oversee the marketing budget; allocate resources to maximize ROI.
  • Establish KPIs/dashboards and deliver performance reporting and insights to leadership.
  • Partner with Information Systems to leverage AMS/CRM data for segmentation and reporting; stay current on marketing tech, AI, and automation.

What you bring:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field required.
  • Master’s degree or certifications (e.g., AMA PCM, HubSpot, Google Analytics, Meta Blueprint) a plus.

Experience

  • 7–10 years of progressive marketing experience with leadership in digital marketing, brand strategy, and demand generation.
  • Track record driving lead generation, audience growth, and brand activation in a nonprofit or association setting.
  • Experience managing a marketing team and external vendors.
  • Experience with e-commerce, licensing, or publications strongly preferred.

Skills

  • Strategic thinker who can execute—comfortable setting vision and running campaigns.
  • Strong storyteller with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Deep proficiency with digital platforms, automation, and analytics (Google Analytics, Meta Ads, HubSpot, SEO tools) and data-driven segmentation (AMS/CRM familiarity).
  • Strong project and budget management skills.
  • Proficient in the responsible use of AI to improve efficiency and organizational effectiveness.

Compensation:

Compensation is commensurate with experience. This role is eligible for an annual performance bonus based on results.
