IOWA SPEEDWAY

Located near Des Moines, Iowa Speedway joined the NASCAR family of tracks in 2013. Known as the "Fastest Short Track on the Planet", Iowa Speedway plays host to two major race weekends a year, welcoming the ARCA Menards Series and the NTT INDYCAR Series. The track was designed by NASCAR Hall of Famer Rusty Wallace.

JOB POSTING TITLE: SEASONAL EVENT STAFF GENERAL MAINTENANCE - IOWA SPEEDWAY

SUMMARY
Iowa Speedway is hiring for Seasonal Maintenance Event Staff. This position will perform a variety of duties necessary to maintain all aspects of the facility with special emphasis on event preparation, track rentals, and on-site activities. This is a part-time seasonal position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operate equipment of all types (tractors, mowers, backhoe, water truck, skid loader, power/hand tools, forklift, dump truck, sweeper). Operate equipment of all types as directed and maintain equipment as necessary to meet the goals and objectives of facility.

Inspect plumbing, HVAC, interior / exterior buildings, track surface, track wall, track fence, parking lots, equipment, and other areas of the facility. Make necessary repairs proactively and as necessary.
Communicate, and work directly with track vendors and contractors.
Hang and dismantle signage, banners, etc., as needed.
Maintain landscaped areas as required to achieve desired results in the overall appearance of the facility.
Clean grounds and buildings, including but not limited to, removal of trash and litter, power washing, vacuuming, mopping, and wiping of surfaces in differing climates.
Repair tools, water lines, fences, gates, walls, walkways, and buildings and perform necessary general maintenance as directed.
Paint track walls, fences, concrete barriers, grounds, and buildings utilizing ladders, lifts, and scaffolding as directed.
Positive interaction with other facilities staff to ensure the best-case scenario for accomplishing respective tasks.

Assist with projects for all departments as directed by the Facility Maintenance Manager.

Maintain relationships and work with various suppliers as directed by the Facility Maintenance Manager.

Communicate with full-time maintenance staff to ensure each knows the proper way to use equipment and has the proper information to complete assigned tasks.

Stays alert and recognizes potential hazards around the facility, including all buildings, grandstands, and grounds. Immediately reports potential hazards to the Facility Maintenance Manager.

Performs additional duties as assigned in the normal course of business.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, and/or QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 18 years of age.
Possess Valid Driver's License and successfully pass a driving record check.
Reliable transportation to and from the track location.
Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions for extended periods.
Skills to operate equipment in a safe effective manner and conduct general construction / carpentry type work.
