What You'll Do

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the community, ensuring alignment with Iris standards and expectations.
  • Set clear expectations for department leaders and hold the team accountable for performance outcomes.
  • Lead through visibility — actively engage with residents, families, and team members every day.
  • Build and reinforce a culture that reflects Iris values, mission, and commitment to excellence.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality resident care and services in compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Partner with the Wellness Director to ensure clinical and service excellence, and promote resident dignity, engagement, and satisfaction.
  • Respond to and resolve resident and family concerns with urgency and professionalism.
  • Recruit, hire, develop, and retain high-performing team members and department leaders.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management with clear expectations and follow-up.
  • Manage community financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and NOI, while operating within approved budgets.
  • Partner with Sales & Marketing to achieve occupancy goals, support lead conversion, and maintain a strong local market presence.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and maintain survey readiness.
  • Partner with the Maintenance Director to uphold the physical plant and overall community appearance.
  • Maintain accurate, timely reporting and continuously identify opportunities for operational improvement.

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5+ years of leadership experience in senior living, healthcare, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage day-to-day operations effectively.
  • Working knowledge of applicable state and federal senior living regulations.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, resident-centered environment.
  • High school diploma required; college credits or degree preferred.
  • Must meet state requirements for Executive Director/Administrator licensure.
  • Availability to be on-call and respond to operational needs, including evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, with frequent walking, standing, and bending throughout the community.
