Recruitment Type: General Public - G

Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center is seeking a Memory Care Aide for the weekend evening shift to provided approve therapeutic recreation programs for residents with dementia. Qualified candidates will help carry out the objective of the facility as part of total resident care and ensuring the protection of residents during these activities.
This is a wage position with no benefits. Ability to work every other weekend from 12PM - 830PM and occasional extra evenings as needed is required with the potential for additional shifts as well. Hours may not exceed 1500 in a year between May 1st - April 30th. 

Job Duties

  • Assists in the coordination of programs with other departments in the Center and with community resources as assigned.
  • Conducts recreation and leisure programs to meet the assessed needs, interest, and capabilities of the residents.
  • Maintains a daily attendance log and documents residents' level of involvement.
  • Assist with setting meal trays and escorting residents to the dining hall.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of memory care programming with demonstrated experience in caring for residents with Dementia.
  • Must possess the physical ability to turn, bend and lift without restrictions.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate ideas.

Additional Considerations

  • Experience working in a long-term care or adult geriatric setting.
