Job description

PAY RANGE:

$21.50 - $23.50 Hourly
HOURS:

Monday - Friday 10:00 am - 6:30 pm; possible weekends/shift adjustments as needed
POSITION SUMMARY:

The Membership Coordinator assists with all membership strategies and initiatives. Key responsibilities for Membership include assistance with membership sales, member service, and member retention strategies. This leadership position is responsible for assisting in daily operations of the Membership Department, including the Welcome Center and Child Watch. The Membership Coordinator is accountable for delivering an exemplary membership experience and for handling customer related services. This position works alongside the Membership Director to provide a seamless transition for members, from the point of enrollment to the long term relationship development and retention of the member.
This Coordinator assists with leading the development, growth, and retention of our membership and wellness programs. This position works to meet the needs of members and the community through program and event execution. The Membership Coordinator role works under the direct supervision of the Director of Membership & Healthy Living to provide quality service and communication to the members, assist members along their journeys to improved well-being, and ensure an excellent membership experience for all.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES:

  • Requires understanding of group work process, program and staff development, skilled in general management and communications.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must be people oriented, possess strong management and supervisory skills, be well organized and multi-task oriented.
  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • Knowledge of program fiscal management preferred.
  • Ensures the Branch meets the needs of members and the community by
    implementing membership programs, strategies, and initiatives.
  • Keep in mind the Strategic Advantages of: YMCA Values, Community-Based
    Branches, Equity and Inclusion, and Multi-Generational service. Utilizes the association Strategy Screen in operational decision making. Understands the
    association Strategic Priorities including the Community Impact areas of
    Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.

Education/Training:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to pass CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, Child Abuse Prevention training, and other mandatory training within completion time frame.
  • TB test required.
  • Required completion of YMCA’s mandatory training modules for program staff within required timeframes and current upkeep of mandatory certifications required.
  • 2 years minimum experience working in membership, sales, and/or
    customer service related activities.
