Job description

Member of Technical Staff
Shared Context is building adaptive personal AI that understands the texture of real life: our relationships, routines, responsibilities, and goals. We are building technology that adapts to each and every individual person to help them navigate life with ease, care, and intention.
We're looking for a senior engineer who is hands-on and cares deeply about craft. You will turn ambitious ideas into enduring products and systems while shaping the technical foundation of the company.
We are funded by leading VCs and are a startup-in-residence at the iconic design and innovation firm, IDEO.
What you'll do
  • Build core agent, product, and infrastructure systems.
  • Create simulation environments for users, schedules, relationships, and multi-agent interactions.
  • Develop evaluations for long-horizon agent behavior, reliability, and safety.
  • Design systems for context, memory, orchestration, and tool use.
  • Set a high bar for architecture, engineering quality, and product craft.
  • Help shape the technical roadmap, culture, and team.
You might be a fit if you
  • Have designed and shipped complex products or systems with significant ownership.
  • Are deeply experienced in backend and distributed systems; our stack includes Python, Postgres, React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
  • Have built LLM agents, simulations, evaluation frameworks, or related systems.
  • Combine strong architectural judgment with product and design instincts.
  • Bring great product instincts and genuine care for design, UX, and human-centered product development.
  • Thrive in ambiguity, move quickly, and hold high standards without ego.

This is a high-autonomy high-ownership role with meaningful influence over the product and company.
In person in San Francisco or New York.
