Millcroft Living is recruiting for a hospitality focused PRN Medication Certified Techs to join our team! The primary purpose of this position is to assist our residents with daily tasks such a bathing, toileting, eating and dressing. We strive to be the best and give the best care possible to our residents.

PRN all shifts

Salary starting at $19/hour

General Summary

The Certified Medicine Aide assists with the administration of medications under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. Assists licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living.

Principal Duties

Certified Nursing Assistant Duties:

  • Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting and exercising.
  • Gives treatments, perform tests, carry-out procedures and collect specimens as instructed.
  • Reports and records observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures and specimens when indicated.
  • Transfers, transports and escorts residents as needed.
  • Answers signal lights promptly.
  • Changes bed linens, makes beds and keeps rooms clean and orderly.
Certified Medication Aide Duties:
  • Safely prepares, administers, and charts oral, topical, and suppository drugs. The medication aide who prepares the medicine administers same.
  • Checks and prepares each dose immediately preceding administration.
Qualifications

Good mental and physical health, sound judgment, and high moral standards. Strong customer service focus and professionalism. Flexibility and adaptability in changing environments. Ability to read, write, spell, and follow both written and oral directions. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, coworkers, and families. Ability to work with individuals who may be ill, elderly, or emotionally upset.

Education

Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent. Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting; must be able to stand/walk for up to 70% of the work day; must be able to lift, transfer, turn and position residents weighing up to 50 lbs. unassisted. May be subjected to offensive odors and combative behavior. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally. May be exposed to communicable diseases including the HIV and HBV viruses. Must be able to work paying close attention to detail with frequent interruptions.
