Medical Laboratory Technician / Medical Technologist
Job Summary:
MLee Healthcare is looking for a Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Technologist (MLT/MT) to conduct diagnostic tests according to physician orders under the supervision of the Clinical Director. This position requires proficiency commensurate with the candidate's education, training, and experience, encompassing tasks such as equipment maintenance, quality assessments, and effective workload management. Additionally, there may be opportunities to mentor laboratory staff and students pending approval from the laboratory director.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform venipuncture proficiently across all patient age groups to ensure specimen quality.
  • Conduct precise testing within designated departments and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality control, document corrective actions, and make informed decisions regarding patient results.
  • Handle proficiency samples, document critical values, and maintain confidentiality when releasing results.
  • Engage in competency testing and pursue professional development activities.
  • Maintain certification and actively participate in in-service education sessions and meetings.
  • Assist in training new employees or students as required.
  • Effectively utilize computer systems and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
  • Foster positive collaboration with a diverse range of patients, visitors, and staff members.
  • Uphold the Medical Center's mission and demonstrate consistent attendance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
    Requirements:
  • Licensed Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist holding current ASCP, AMT, ASMT, or equivalent certification.
  • Proficient in utilizing laboratory instrumentation and interpreting results. Effective communicator with patients, healthcare professionals, and clients.
  • Experienced in providing care to patients spanning various age groups, understanding their unique needs.
  • Familiar with laboratory protocols and operational procedures.
  • Self-motivated individual adept at maintaining adherence to established standards.
