Medical Assistant LME, Inc., located at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Newport News, Virginia, is seeking qualified candidates for a Full-Time Medical Assistant supporting the Department of Defense. This role involves a variety of clinical and administrative duties related to patient care and medical treatment services, including scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, coordinating referrals, and assisting patients with questions and concerns. Duties and Responsibilities
โ€ข Serve as the initial point of contact for patients arriving for appointments.
โ€ข Provide administrative and clerical support to physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and hospital corpsmen.
โ€ข Perform patient check-in procedures, maintain records, answer telephones, and schedule appointments.
โ€ข Coordinate patient appointments in accordance with TRICARE Appointment Booking Standards.
โ€ข Respond to patient inquiries regarding medical, personnel, and administrative matters.
โ€ข Maintain office and clinic supplies, including inventory and requisition of administrative materials.
โ€ข Prepare departmental correspondence, memoranda, letters, and reports as requested.
โ€ข Complete end-of-day appointment processing using automated healthcare systems and/or MHS GENESIS/Revenue Cycle systems. Requirements โ€ข Must successfully complete a background investigation and obtain/maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
โ€ข CPR certification is required and must be maintained throughout employment.
โ€ข Hepatitis B immunization screening is required for positions involving direct patient contact.
โ€ข Annual Influenza vaccination is required unless exempt for medical or religious reasons.
โ€ข Tuberculosis (TB) testing is required.
โ€ข Position is designated as Tier 3, Non-Critical Sensitive, Moderate Risk.
โ€ข Applicant must be a qualified typist. Qualifications Applicants: U.S. Citizens only. Applicants must meet one of the following qualification requirements: One year of general clerical or administrative experience in a medical treatment facility or clinical setting. Qualifying experience may include:

โ€ข Filing medical records
โ€ข Answering calls and assisting visitors
โ€ข Providing patient instructions Education
Two years of education above the high school level from an accredited business, technical, secretarial, junior college, college, or university.
Combination of Education and Experience
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify if the combined percentage equals at least 100%. Typing Requirement Applicants must demonstrate typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute with no more than three errors on a five-minute typing test. Pay: $27.15hr + $5.09 H&W = Total $32.24 hr.
Annual Salary: $67,059.20
