Asa Coordinator atMercyOne, youwill provide support to the Officers of the Medical Staff, Department Chairpersons, Committee Chairpersons, and other Medical Staff Leaders. Responsible for facilitation of Medical Staff meetings through agenda development, accurate recording of discussions and actions, appropriate follow-up and maintenance of minutes. Assist in managing the flow of information from Medical Staff Departments and Committees through the Medical Executive Committee (MEC) to the Medical Review Committee (MRC) which flows to the Board. Oversees the implementation and adherence to Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, procedures, and policies to ensure ongoing compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies and developing action plans, if needed, to achieve compliance. Assures ongoing development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support the Medical Staff and Medical Affairs operations. Participates in quality improvement activates and peer review process at MEC level. Maintains working knowledge of credentialing and privileging processes and procedures. Coordinates special department projects. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with the Medical Staff and other professionals in order to engender confidence, respect, and dependability and aptitude to maturely handle a variety of problems and situations, which could be of a critical or urgent nature at times. Ability to interact with physicians in highly sensitive situations and to express ideas effectively orally and in writing.
