Job description

Job Title: Software Engineer

Job Description

This role focuses on designing, developing, and integrating software for aircraft and aircraft test systems. You will contribute to both new and existing systems, working within a structured software development process to ensure that solutions meet stringent aerospace and defense requirements. The position offers the opportunity to support flight test activities and work with high‑fidelity simulation environments as part of a small, collaborative engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software for new and existing aircraft systems and aircraft test systems.
  • Integrate and test software on aircraft platforms and in virtual high‑fidelity simulation environments.
  • Support flight test activities by preparing, deploying, and troubleshooting software used during testing.
  • Create clear, comprehensive design documentation for internal engineering use and external stakeholders.
  • Work in adherence to the established software development process to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Develop software test plans and procedures to demonstrate compliance with system and customer requirements.
  • Participate in planning, design, testing, and deployment of moderately complex engineered systems and software.
  • Ensure all software solutions conform to functional specifications and meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with other software engineers and cross‑functional team members in a small team setting.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of development and testing practices within the software engineering group.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development for embedded systems.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ for developing reliable and efficient software.
  • Hands‑on experience developing software for aerospace and defense applications.
  • Experience working with Linux in an embedded or systems development context.
  • Simulink or similar model‑based design tools for control systems.

Pay and Benefits

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
