As a Medical Assistant you are \responsible for performing a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to support healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care. This role requires a combination of medical knowledge, technical skills, and strong interpersonal abilities. We are looking for someone who thrives on patient care and compassion as you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of patients and for providing a positive, supportive environment for patients and other staff while working in conjunction with physicians, advanced practitioners, front office and clinical staff. You will be responsible for skills, knowledge and medical terminology of the Medical Assistant, as well as patient care. Orthopedic or Pain Medicine experience preferred!

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Medical Scribe:

  • Perform provider documentation of patient information as dictated by the patient.
  • Demonstrated skill in documenting and maintaining patient care records in a complete, thorough, and timely manner.
  • Follows established medical record requirements.
  • Completes all documentation real-time and within the same date of service.
  • Performs clerical duties, such as: patient call backs, assisting with necessary forms, sending billing information to the team, email correspondence, etc.

Patient Care:

  • Primary patient care responsibilities - As directed by Administration:
  • Perform clinical intake of patients to include taking and recording vital signs and patient history.
  • Assist patients as needed with walking, transfer, exam preparation, etc.
  • Ensure the well-being of patients and for providing a positive, supportive environment for patients and other staff.
  • Assist the provider with calling patients.
  • Proper, concise and complete EMR documentation and paper based documentation for all clinical assessments and procedures.
  • Comply with and follow policies and procedures.
  • Must be willing to learn and operate a C-Arm machine for in office procedures under the guidance of your physician.
  • Coordination of patient care.
  • Completion of MIPS quality measures.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant training program preferred.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification may be necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and other medical software.
