Medical Scribe - Cardiology
Department: Clinic Operations
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: 506 W. Valley Blvd. Unit #100, San Gabriel, CA 91776
Reporting To: Leatrice Ching
Compensation: $22.00 - $24.00 / hour
Description
Assist clinicians by documenting patient encounters, updating diagnosis codes, sending out and verifying prescriptions, following up on complex patient cases to update providers as needed. Will also be expected to perform other tasks such as intake, EKGs, hooking up heart monitors when not scribing for provider. Medical scribe may also be trained in administrative responsibilities such as insurance verification, medical records preparation, appointment scheduling.
What You'll Do
  • Exhibits behavior and communication skills supportive of Astrana Health's mission, values, and commitment to outstanding service, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Observe patient-physician interactions and accurately transcribe patient notes into each patient's electronic health record
  • Enter ICD codes, write orders or referrals on behalf of the licensed healthcare provider
  • Document care provided, tests ordered, prescriptions issued, care plan
  • Adhere to HIPAA laws

You'll be great for this role if you have:
  • At least 1 year of scribing experience
  • Completion of a medical scribe certificate
  • Experience with transcription
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • Fluent in Cantonese and/or Mandarin
  • Proficient understanding of medical terminology, CPT and ICD coding, HIPAA laws/ regulations, human anatomy/physiology
  • Strong computer keyboard skills (60+ WPM)
  • EMR competence
  • Excellent navigation of multitasking, organization, and time management skills
  • Possess advanced communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Capable of keeping up in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in a team

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions
  • This position is located in-office. Cross-coverage across Monterey Park, City of Industry, Arcadia, and El Monte.
  • The target pay range for this role is $21-$25/hr. This salary range represents our national target range for this role.
