Job description

*** This is a Temprary Position from 1/1/2026 to 12/30/2026 ***

Job Summary: The Research Assistant supports the execution of certain aspects of a research project after the research design is established with minimal supervision. Performs other duties as needed.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with research mice, including oral gavage, injections, blood collection, and genotyping of transgenic mouse models. Experience with tissue collection and processing is required. The candidate should also be proficient in immunohistochemistry, Western blotting, PCR techniques, and fecal microbiota analysis.


Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in related science fields required. Minimum seven years of experience accepted in lieu of degree. Minimum one year of research experience required.
Knowledge and Skills: Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position; Able to relate and communicate positively with faculty, staff, students, administration and others; Must possess working knowledge of internet-based and smart phone-based software enabling communication with research/program directors as well as research/program staff; Work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; excellent self-motivation, problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision; maintain high level of confidentiality and ethical integrity. Knowledge of quality, research regulatory requirements. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
