Job description

Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest as a part-time Health Information Management (HIM) Specialist. This role involves assembling and organizing both inpatient and outpatient medical records, ensuring they are complete and readily accessible for ongoing patient care. You will work with a hybrid system of paper and electronic medical records, collaborating closely with healthcare professionals to support quality patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately process and file medical record documents to ensure timely availability of complete patient data.
  • Assemble, analyze, and index medical records following established procedures.
  • Scan and import reports into electronic medical records, maintaining accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage offsite storage logs and retrieval of records for various clinical and administrative needs.
  • Process Release of Information (ROI) requests in compliance with regional regulations.
  • Respond professionally to inquiries from providers, third-party payers, and other departments.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of protected health information at all times.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
  • At least one year of clerical experience; prior medical records or medical office experience is advantageous.
Skills and Abilities
