Job Summary:

Compensation: $115,000 - $130,000 + bonus

The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for leading the safe, profitable, and efficient operation of a geographical region of distribution centers. This leader collaborates closely with regional sales leadership, centralized supply chain, and centralized operations roles to harmonize processes and enhance productivity. The Regional Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day success of the region while also developing long-term strategies and continuous improvement projects that support sales growth and operational efficiency. This role involves leading diverse teams and having direct accountability for regional operational functions, including transportation, fleet management, inventory control, distribution center operations, safety, and workforce management planning.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Operational Performance and Management:
    • Oversee performance of regional operations including labor cost, inventory management, transportation needs, facility layout, and production flow.
    • Develop and manage action plans to refine performance and correct deficiencies.
    • Contribute to overall P&L management through proper cost control, inventory planning, transportation operations, staffing, and facilities management and maintenance across the region.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Lead overall workplace safety and transportation safety initiatives and results across the region.
    • Ensure proper inventory control systems and physical counting events are effective and compliant across the region. May supervise physical inventory events as needed.
  • Strategic Planning and Development:
    • Contribute to short and long-term organizational planning and strategy on a Branch, District, and Regional level.
    • Develop and refine distribution center operational systems, processes, and policies consistent with company policies and initiatives.
    • Establish consistent standards of operation across the region to ensure proper financial controls, customer service processes, loss prevention, and transactional management.
  • Leadership and Team Development:
    • Provide leadership, coaching, and employee development across the regional operations team within distribution centers.
    • Partner with regional leadership and corporate operations team to select operating locations, new facility construction/expansion, and longer-term real estate planning.
  • Fleet and Transportation Management:
    • Provide overall leadership for the regional fleet program and transportation costs.\
    • Partner with the corporate transportation team to improve safety, reduce costs, and implement established processes within the region.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Multi-site oversight/management experience
  • BA/BS in Operations, Supply Chain or Business preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 5 - 7 + yearsโ€™ experience in warehouse facility, fulfilment, or distribution preferred
  • 3 - 5 + years Management experience preferred
  • P&L management and budgeting experience preferred
  • Fleet/transportation management and DOT regulation experience preferred
