About This Role

Preparatory Library Media Specialist


We are seeking a Christian individual who is interested in growing within our organization, supports our mission, has excellent communication skills, excellent technical writing skills, is very detail-oriented, and has the ability to work effectively – both with a team and individually.


The Library Media Specialist will oversee the daily operations of the school library and computer lab, ensuring both spaces support a positive, engaging, and academically enriching environment for students and staff. This role includes managing library resources, maintaining an organized and accessible collection, and providing support for research, reading, and technology-based learning. The specialist will also supervise and maintain the computer lab, assist students and teachers with technology needs, and help integrate digital literacy skills into classroom instruction. Strong organizational skills, a passion for student learning, and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and students are essential.


What You'll Do
  • Oversee daily operations of the school library and computer lab
  • Maintain, organize, and update library collections, including books, media, and digital resources
  • Assist students with locating materials, conducting research, and using library and digital tools
  • Support teachers by recommending resources and collaborating on instructional activities
  • Manage computer lab scheduling, equipment usage, and student supervision
  • Provide basic troubleshooting and technology assistance for students and staff
  • Teach or support lessons in digital citizenship, research skills, and media literacy
  • Maintain a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment
  • Monitor inventory and coordinate repair or replacement of library and computer lab equipment
  • Plan and promote reading programs, literacy events, and technology-based activities
  • Track circulation, maintain records, and ensure proper use of library systems
  • Enforce school policies related to library and computer lab behavior and appropriate technology use

Qualifications:
