Piedmont Eastside, Weekend Option, Nights

PEM laboratory is dedicated to providing comprehensive diagnostic services to support patient care at our North and South Campus. PEM laboratory is equipped with advanced technology in every department within the lab such as hematology, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, microbiology, and pathology services. The laboratory is staffed by a multi-cultural team of highly skilled professionals like Pathologist, Medical Laboratory Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Histologist, Laboratory Tech Assistant and Laboratory Assistant. PEM lab is designed to handle the needs of a busy hospital environment, ensuring timely and accurate results to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment for outpatient and inpatient care. With a focus on quality control and patient safety, PEM laboratory supports the hospital's commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare.

ResponsibilitiesPerforms sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists with both clinical and non-clinical tasks while working under the direct supervision of a licensed medical technologist/ technician to ensure that accurate, reliable results are generated by the laboratory.QualificationsEducation
  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
Work Experience
  • 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist, laboratory processor, or laboratory assistant. Required or
  • No experience required Current enrollment in a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician program may be substituted for experience Required
