We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for an Communications Intern (Hybrid) on our Scientific Publication team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office.
The intern will gain hands-onexperience in social media marketing and media relations in support of the JAMANetwork. The JAMA Network brings together JAMA, JAMA Network Open, and 11specialty journals to provide enhanced access to educational content,scientific research, and thought leadership shaping the future of medicine.Published continuously since 1883, JAMA is one of the most widely circulated,peer-reviewed, general medical journals in the world.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support social media strategy and campaigns across multiple platforms for a leading medical journal
  • Draft, edit, and schedule platform-specific social media posts
  • Assist with creating graphics and other promotional assets
  • Track and report on social media performance metrics and optimization opportunities
  • Upload and manage posts using a social media management platform
  • Participate in editorial meetings focused on content amplification
  • Gain hands-on experience in academic and scientific publishing
  • Support additional projects as needed

May include other responsibilities as assigned

The American Medical Association is located at 330 N. Wabash Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611 and is convenient to all public transportation in Chicago.
This role is a non-exempt position and the hourly range for this position is $19.00 - $26.00. This is the lowest to highest rate we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration, geographical location, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
