Job description

Specialty Breast Cancer Diagnostic Center in Palo Alto seeks a Medical Assistant. The position is approximately 32-40 hrs per week. Job responsibilities include a full range of front and back office duties such as: room set up, registering patients, rooming patients, scheduling patients, assisting with biopsy procedures, performing imaging exams (the center will train and certify the candidate), answering phones, collecting payments, verifying insurance, preparing medical reports, preparing charts and updating medical files. Must be polished and professional with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Looking for candidates with computer skills (Microsoft Word a plus), excellent phone presence, ability to multitask, attention to detail and a caring and supportive attitude. No prior medical experience required. Must be computer literate. This is a great opportunity to work in a fast paced environment along with a caring team of professionals. Great office for pre-med students and others interested in getting experience in the medical field. This is a 20-24 month internship. No summer internships available. Must be able to drive to work and able to do varying shifts and days including one or two early morning shifts (starting at around 7:00 AM).
