Medical Intake Coordinator
Humane Society for Hamilton County
Starting Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

The Humane Society for Hamilton County is hiring a Medical Intake Coordinator to support the intake, medical processing, and daily treatment needs of animals in our care. This role is ideal for someone with veterinary medicine experience who can stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly, and help animals move safely and efficiently through the next step of their journey.
What You'll Do
  • Support the intake process and help ensure animals are medically processed, temperament tested, and moved through workflow efficiently
  • Conduct routine exams, tests, vaccines, and treatments
  • Process new animal intakes, including drawing blood, administering vaccines, microchipping, and giving preventatives
  • Monitor the health of the shelter population and follow treatment plans for sick animals
  • Provide medical care including SQ fluids, medications, vital signs, and related treatments
  • Maintain accurate medical records in PetPoint and related systems
  • Work closely with foster, medical, and shelter teams
  • Assist in the surgery suite as needed, including patient prep, cleaning, instrument support, and treatment assistance
  • Participate in on-call emergency rotation for after-hours, weekends, and holidays

What We're Looking For
  • Veterinary medicine experience required
  • Animal handling experience in a clinic setting required
  • Strong medical observation, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume shelter setting
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office, email, PetPoint, Excel, or similar systems
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and rotating on-call shifts
  • Commitment to a positive, whatever-it-takes culture and no-kill philosophy
