Job Summary:
RRD is a leading global provider of marketing, packaging, print, and supply chain solutions. The VDP Specialist is responsible for analysis, program design, coding and testing of format programs according to customer specifications, ensuring quality control standards are met throughout the process.
Responsibilities:
• Receive, review, and verify order specs and instructions from the Client Service Rep.
• Utilize copy template, instructions, and PrintNet T software to develop order workflow documents.
• Analyze and interpret instructions to develop programming logic.
• Check workflow document logic using selectable driven default file.
• Verify.
• Responsible for dynamic featuring & VPC digital press workflow.
• Responsible for alternative communication channels (i.e.: Print-Ready PDFs, Post Process PDFs, ADA Compliant PDFs, email).
• Setup and verify imaging is in compliance with press, production, device, and postal specifications and tolerances.
• This includes setup for Test Mode and Quality Check records.
• Create files, paperwork, and reports for Production, Sales, and Verification.
• Generate and verify Customer requested Signoff files.
• 5% Customer modifications and proof-back changes.
• Support and work with Production for resolutions to press imaging problems.
• Responsible for cross-functional tasks and communicating with other team members as required to process orders.
• Keep technical skills up to date.
• Participate in product and software upgrade testing, as well as new imaging technologies.
Qualifications:
Required:
• An Associate Degree in Computer Science or Imaging Technology or the equivalent in education and/or work experience desired.
• Knowledge of data processing, print technologies, production processes, work flow process are required, with general knowledge of RR Donnelley business practices.
• High communication skills both written and oral.
• Problem solving skills are essential to this position.
• Responsible for developing and coding program logic, making decisions on fonts/image placement, and utilization of programmed logic.
• Self-motivation and strong organizational skills are required.
Preferred:
• Experience programming with Inspire Designer is preferred.
