Job description

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President of Medical Affairs, the Associate Director, Medical Information will lead the Medical Information function and be responsible for the provision and oversight of high-quality Medical Information services to Revance internal and external customers. This role will manage Medical Information operations, ensure compliant and scientifically accurate responses, maintain standard response materials, monitor inquiry trends, and partner cross-functionally to support Medical Affairs priorities across Revance products.
  • Reporting to: Vice President, Medical Affairs
  • Location: Nashville, TN - Hybrid (onsite required - relocation support available)
  • Salary Range: $160,000-$185,000 annually + performance bonus

*The final salary offered will depend upon factors that may include but are not limited to the quality and length of experience, education, and geographic location
Responsibilities/Essential Duties:
  • Lead the Medical Information function, including resource allocation, process improvement, and performance metrics related to inquiry handling, response time, and quality.
  • Generate reports and metrics for Medical Information activities on a regular basis and present to cross-functional teams as requested.
  • Monitor inquiry trends and lead the planning, development, and maintenance of product-related standard response letters and FAQs.
  • Monitor published medical literature and in-house clinical documents; evaluate relevant information and formulate available information into appropriate Medical Information responses.
  • Manage integration between Medical Information and Field Medical Advisor teams, and manage the Medical Information booth at medical congresses to represent Revance Medical Affairs.
  • Monitor the overall Medical Information process and perform quality control; lead business review meetings and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Recognize and collect information related to adverse events, product complaints, and medical device reports, and process these reports in accordance with FDA regulations and Revance policies.
  • Create new procedures and update existing procedures, including SOPs and Work Instructions, to ensure alignment of Medical Information practices with established business processes.
  • Handle Medical Information inquiries and document fulfillment within the CRM system.
  • Act as an internal scientific and medical resource; provide training to Sales or other internal functions as needed and actively participate in interdepartmental projects.
  • Provide oversight to Scientific Advisors that serve as Medical Reviewers on the Promotional Review Committee
  • Support the hiring, mentoring, and professional development of Medical Information personnel

Basic Qualifications:
  • PharmD, PhD in biological sciences or equivalent education.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Medical Affairs, including minimum of 3 years of experience in Medical Information services or an equivalent role.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of management or functional leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of Medical Information/Communication standards within the pharmaceutical industry and applicable regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including active listening skills.
  • Professional phone etiquette and familiarity with cloud-based phone systems.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting neurotoxins and/or aesthetics products in a Medical Affairs capacity
  • Team oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to build effective internal relationships.
  • Ability to develop project strategies and execute project details.
  • Highly developed problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively learn and convey clinical and non-clinical technical information.
  • Ability to work independently and within team settings.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support Medical Affairs activities, including medical congresses.
