Medical Equipment Store Manager Jobs (NOW HIRING)

TheDME Program Managersupports Access Alaska, Inc.'s Independent Living mission of empowering individuals experiencing disabilities to live independently and interdependently within the community of their choice. This position provides leadership and administrative support to the daily operations of theDurable Medical Equipment (DME), Independent LivingAdvocacy,andConsumer Directed Personal Care Services (CDPCS)departments.

Ensuring the efficient operation of theDurable Medical Equipment Store, including inventory management, equipment sanitation and maintenance, staff supervision, and customer service. The position collaborates with consumers, community partners, healthcare providers, and internal staff tofacilitateaccess to durable medical equipment and independent livingsupport. Receives donated equipment,the completion of minor repairs, sanitizing/cleaning, maintain durable medical equipment;document work activities and maintain equipment inventory;required to safely use general repair hand tools and a specialized sanitizing and cleaning machine known as a Hub Scrub;work outside in various weather conditions; completeminor construction and repair work;andassureaccurate purchasing, repair and inventory records.

Ensures quality customer service, compliance with program requirements,accuraterecordkeeping, and effective communication with consumers, families, employees, and community stakeholders. Must protect andmaintainthe confidentiality ofcustomers'health information and follow standard operation procedures to ensure compliance with HIPAA isrequired.

Promotes person-centered services, regulatory compliance, and quality program outcomes while fostering connections that support the physical, emotional, and economic well-being of individuals experiencing disabilities.

Serves as a resource to consumers and staff, advocates for consumer choice and self-determination, and works to expand opportunities for community integration and independent living.

Regular, reliable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position. The incumbent mustmaintainsufficient availability to ensure effectivestaffoversight, support, and responsive service delivery to consumers and community partners.

Highschool or general education development (GED) diploma.

Credentialing/Specialized traininggeneral mechanical/electrical/plumbing.

5 yearsofsmallequipment repair and maintenance.

3 years of management and supervision of employees

Ability to read diagrams.

Ability to utilize basic hand tools, for example: wrenches, screwdrivers, batterydrills,saws,etc.

Must have working knowledge of MS Office tools, word processing and dataenterskills

Oversite andsupervision of Program Support Specialistworking inDME, IL,andCDPCS Departments.

Travel to Anchorage or Fairbanks.

All positions at Access Alaska, Inc. require successful completion of a State of Alaska and federal name- and fingerprint-based criminal background check prior to the commencement of employment. Employment is contingent upon receiving a validProvisional ApprovalorFinal Approvalthrough the State of Alaska Background Check Unit.

Employees mustmaintaineligibility to work under the applicable approval status andcomply withall renewal requirements mandated by state regulations. Background check approvals aregenerally validfor five (5) years, subject to state regulations and program requirements. Recertification must beinitiatedand completed at least forty-five (45) days prior to theexpirationdate of the current approval

New employeesare responsible forthe cost of theinitialbackground check application. Unless other arrangements have been approved by the Accounting Department, the fee will be deducted from the employee's first paycheck.

Failure tomaintaina current and valid background check approval may result in the employee being ineligible to perform job duties. If an employee's approval expires before renewal approval is issued, the employee will be suspended from work and may not return to duty until a valid approval has been received.

The DME Program Manager may be assignedadditionalduties and responsibilities consistent with the scope and level of this position. The incumbent is expected todemonstrateflexibility and adaptability in responding to operational, programmatic, staffing, and organizational needs while supporting the mission and goals of Access Alaska, Inc. These duties may include temporary assignments, special projects, committee participation, training, community outreach, and coverage of essential functions as needed.
